This example illustrates the core features and scientific principles of StructureSolver structural modeling, and shows how simply you can model an extensional growth fault.
The example includes the following steps:
- Interpret a fault with a single convex bend
- Add series of undeformed structural surfaces
- Stretch growth sequence on hangingwall
- Identify active axial surface, growth axial surface and oldest inactive axial surface
- Animate structural model
- Modify fault shape to make fault bend convex, with active axial surface automatically changing from antithetic to synthetic
- Identify active axial surface, growth axial surface and oldest inactive axial surface
- Animate structural model
- Add more fault points to produce curvilinear fault trajectory and realistic rollover geometry
- Animate structural model
