Practical structural geology tools for Interpreters
We will be exhibiting StructureSolver at the AAPG Annual Conference and Exhibition in San Antonio, Texas, May 19-22, booth 916. Please visit us for demonstrations of StructureSolver Version 4.0 and the new StructureSolverPlugin for Petrel.
Nate will be presenting our recent study of the Bohai Bay, China:Monday 9:05 a.m., Room 214B/C, Theme 4: Global Studies of Extensional and Passive Margins.
"Restoring Seismic Images Based on Structural Forward Models to Reveal the Interplay Between Faulting, Erosion, and Fluvial Processes at a Basin-Bounding Growth Fault in the Bohai Bay, China". N. Eichelberger, A. Nunns, N. D. Perez, S. Ball, D. He.
StructureSolverOceanPlugin for Petrel
The plugin brings the StructureSolver tools into the Petrel interpretation environment. You can easily export your seismic data and interpretation to StructureSolver and update interpretation easily between Petrel and StructureSolver. Working within the Petrel environment, you can:
At any point, you can save your StructureSolver solution to continue your interpretation at a later time.
The videos on this page show how to transfer your data between StructureSolver and Petrel, and examples of how you can use the StructureSolver tools in Petrel to help with interpretation challenges and validate your interpretations.
Please contact your StructureSolver representative for more information.
Restoration of Sub-Salt Structures
The new component restoration feature introduced in StructureSolver 3.0 is very useful for understanding the structural and depositional history of salt structures. As an example of this usage, we present a short video showing the development of a minibasin associated with several phases of salt movement.
URTEC 2019: "Fault Risk Assessment Using Quantitative Structural GeologyTechniques".
Brown Hawkins of Geoflite Solutions and Nate Eichelberger will be presenting the above paper at the URTEC conference, Denver, 22-24 July. They will demonstrate use of quantitative structural geology techniques in conjunction with seismic data to define fault locations and geometry to reduce risk when planning horizontal wells.
New features in Version 4.1
StructureSolver 4.1 and StructureSolver Ocean Plugin for Petrel 4.1 will be released by January 2020.
We will be presenting a series of 45 minute lunchtime talks, starting in mid-June, at our office in the Energy Corridor in Houston. The talks will include both introductory-level discussions on StructureSolver and underlying structural geology principles as well as in-depth presentations about using the features in StructureSolver effectively in the interpretation workflow. The next StructureSolver newsletter in early June will contain the schedule and details.
Thanks for reading. Please contact us if you have any questions, or would like more information.
