The second talk in our lunchtime series will focus on the restoration tools in StructureSolver and review our recommendations for best practices. StructureSolver restoration can be used to solve problems ranging in complexity from a quick check of horizon correlations across a fault, through restoration of complex contractional and extensional structures and structures involving mobile layers.
Peter Hargrove will first review the principles of restoration, including vertical and inclined shear, flexural slip, and simple rotation. He will then demonstrate the restoration tools in StructureSolver, both simple one-click restoration and component restoration. Peter will work through an example of a salt-related structure in which he uses component restoration to develop a balanced and structurally valid interpretation, and to reveal the evolution of the structure through time.
We hope this presentation will show you the insights that can be obtained from careful structural analysis of all the information contained in your seismic data.
A light lunch and drinks will be provided.
